Whistle Blower
In the days long ago it was a badge of shame to be called whistle blower. Times have changed and the big corporations are themselves under attack for their actions. Now, helping prevent abuse of the Federal government is not only our duty as U.S. Citizens, it is our obligation to ourselves and all tax paying citizens. Our firm fights against the Federal government in many ways, but we also believe in what is right and what is wrong. We all remember the $80.00 hammers that our government bought in the 1980s. Have you ever wondered who made that much money on a hammer? Who in good conscious would take our tax dollars and waste them for personal profit? There is no doubt everyone deserves to make a living and even make a good living, but not at the expense of the rest of this country. We as citizens do not get to decide where all our money is expended, but we can at least try to prevent it from being wasted.
A whistleblower is an employee who reports an employer to the government or a law enforcement agency for unlawful activity. Whistleblowers are encouraged to come forward with information of misconduct in order to prevent fraud against the government. Additionally, employees that do come forward, i.e. “blow the whistle” receive compensation and protection from the government in return for information. For example, the whistleblower section under the False Claims Act protects an employee from discharge, suspension, demotion, harassment, or any discrimination by an employer as a result of an employee’s legitimate allegations in support of a False Claims Act violation.
